Q. How long is the initial training?
A. The initial training will be 2 days a week for 4 weeks with a combination of classroom and on-field training.

Q. What do I need to buy? What is the cost of the uniform for football officials?
A. You will need to buy the following: Long and Short Sleeve referee shirts, pants, black sneakers or cleats, wristwatch with a countdown timer, 2 penalty flags, 2 blue bean bags, Fox40 Classic fingergrip whistle, referee info pack and a hat. The cost is approximately $200. All of these items can be purchased at the following websites online: honigs.com, purchaseoffcials.com, smitteez.com.

Q. What do I need to buy for basketball officiating? What is the cost?
A. You will need to buy black slacks with no belt loop, a v neck basketball referee shirt, a Fox40 Whistle on a lanyard and black sneakers. The approximate cost is $125.

Q. Are there meetings that I have to attend?
A. Yes, they take place on alternating Monday's at 8pm. At these meetings we will be going over rules and mechanics. We will also discuss any unusual circumstances that have occurred on the field in the previous weeks. These meetings are also where you will be getting your check for the previous games you have officiated.

Q. Will I be assigned a mentor to help in my advancement?
A. Yes, you will initially be working with the most experienced officials within the organization. They will be on the field with you and helping in your advancement.

Q. Are there yearly dues and what do they cover?
A. Yes, the yearly dues are $375. They cover your insurance, meeting location rentals, administrative costs and our annual holiday party.
